I have a skin condition. It’s fairly severe, and you can read about that here.
Recently, I’ve begun doing something strange. I’ve been rubbing bananas on my face.
Why would I do this? Well here’s a couple of articles about the benefits of using whole foods on skin, but I’ll give you my own reasons, too.

Since I’ve gone all-natural, standard lotions are out for me, and I’m not going to try and afford some fancy, high end, organic lotion. I can moisturize with organic oil, but in my transition to healthier living, I’m finding it helpful to have more than just moisture. Bananas do moisturize, but they also have tons of nutrients and anti-inflammatory properties that my skin likes.
I just take about 1/3 of a banana and rub it on my skin like a marker every other day. The skin is porous and soaks up all those nutrients. Then, I wait a few minutes, rinse off any excess, and I eat the rest of the banana (because bananas).
I’m not planning to do this forever, by the way. I mean, if I wanted, I could do this every single day for the rest of my life, it wouldn’t hurt me, and that would probably be the ideal situation, but why? Once I clear up my skin, I won’t need to do this, and it would be a hassle to remember every day and continue.
For now, though, I’ll be putting bananas on my face and enjoying the benefits – even if I seem crazy.
